Deadline is reporting that the stop-motion film follow-up from Anomalisa producers Starburns Industries has been acquired with Andrew Kortschak and End Cue. The Isaac Adamson-written script is called Bubbles and evidently, this will be a stop-motion film seen through the eyes of Michael Jackson’s personal monkey named “Bubbles”.
Now, I don’t know if you guys are aware of this, but Starburns is also run by Dino Stamatopoulos and I guarantee he’s gonna take a look at this script and put his thumbprints on it. Know what that means? Welp, if you were a fan of High School USA! or any other of Dino’s darkened satirical looks at society be it it’s obsession with religion or family values, I have a feeling a movie about Michael Jackson in the hands of the guy that once gave us a TV episode involving kids making a sex tape, is gonna get a lot of attention. Hell, the sex scene in Anomalisa was a big deal, this should be even more bananas…
