Review: Harvey Beaks “Steamgate”

Moff is running a steam punk convention, but no one wants to go. As a result, Harvey, Fee, and Foo decide to go on over to help out only to find out that Moff’s about to skip town via his Steamgate. The Steamgate is a portal that will allow Moff to head to another dimension featuring a world where everything is powered by steam. Unfortunately, the portal doesn’t work and Moff’s all depressed, so the kids put on a ruse to help him feel better. Eventually, Harvey pretends to be someone from the alternate world but it screws up. To help, Harvey convinces the entire town to show up and show Moff that he has friends here.

Our Take

The build up to the big finish felt a bit long, but the heart was in the right place. But, when the long line showed up for Moff, I couldn’t help but think of Rudy where all the kids are like “This Is For Rudy, Coach”. If you aren’t misty-eyed after that, you don’t have a soul.
