BUBBLE CAN Review: Two Nuts and a Richard “Stop Wining”

After a misunderstanding between Jose and his mechanic’s wife, Mario needs a more appropriate way of saying thank you and restoring the mechanic’s reputation. Mario becomes fascinated with “tasting” wine.

Two Nuts and a Richard is a show I’m constantly back and forth with. When the show is good, you can expect plenty of witty and clever dialogue between a variety of different characters. When the show isn’t working so well, almost every aspect of the show unravels.

This week was a good episode. The stories were fun to watch and see unfold and the guests on the radio show this week all brought pretty funny stories, although the last one dragged on a little bit. I think some fat could have been cut there.

This show constantly flirts with mature subject matter, but it doesn’t treat that subject matter like mature subject matter. These things that would normally be outrageous on any other show seem normal here. Cartoon nudity, social rights. The show touches on them all. But this week they pulled in the reigns a bit and focused on the characters. This is what I liked about the episode from two weeks ago. While it’s fun to see a show explore complicated ideas, this particular show works best when it’s a bunch of guys cracking jokes with one another.

Overall, pretty good episode. There isn’t a whole lot to say about this one. The stories weren’t the most interesting to watch, but the character interaction is why I continue to have hopes for the show.
