Two Important Promotions announced at FOX
According to Deadline.com, Fox has promoted Samata Narra to SVP Comedy Development & Programming and elevated Jonathan Gabay to VP Comedy Development & Programming. This is important news because both have been integral in the development and success of such animated fare on FOX as Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy. With this promotion, the development of animated shows on FOX certainly looks to be an important cog in the massive wheel that is 20th Century FOX. The article goes on to say that Narra oversaw creative on the Emmy-winning toon series Bob’s Burgers while Gabay was involved in the development of such series as Bob’s Burgers and currently oversees Family Guy.
Both series are definitely success stories in their own regard. Family Guy is a billion dollar franchise, while Bob’s Burgers is an Emmy winner and continues to climb in the ratings whilst amassing a cult following. Let’s put it this way, I see way more cosplay for Bob’s Burgers than I do of any other animated comedy on FOX.
I also hope these promotions will get us some new original animated programming in the coming years.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
