Spoilers Below

Lead by the hologram of Jake’s dead dad, the heroes dive to an under water temple looking for an intruder. Due to some structural damage, most of what holo-dad says is of little help – especially while Jake gets stomped by a mushroom monster.

The two barely make it out alive, but the statue they were charged with saving isn’t as lucky. To celebrate narrowly escaping death, they snag a stack of mushroom pizza from Literal Pizza Village and head home. But once home, Finn and Jake find out not everything was buried when the under water temple collapsed.

The Water Strike

Mid-shower, mid-shampooing, mid-song the water goes out on Marceline. To make things worse: her choice of hair cleanser comes to life and spouts-off cheesy shampoo-commercial taglines until rinsed out.

It’s like this all over the kingdom. Finn and Jake don’t have a pond to swim in, Rainicorn is all messed up, bears can’t boil spaghetti, and just image how the fish must feel. But Finn is flippin serious about investigating the missing water.

A few hours later and after some armpit licking, the crew find a sobbing, baby water drop by a dry riverbed. The droplet takes them to its mom, the Water Princes; and she is super mad. Everyone in the land has been treating her like a jerk, and she’s fed up. The people, and critters, of Ooo genuinely feel guilty and apologize. Each taking away how important it is to protect the Water Princess.

The writing is a little clunky at times and the message is heavy-handed, but The Water Strike’s art and heart make it a charming and interesting read.
