Shorts Review: Mickey Mouse – “Black and White”

Mickey is psyching himself up to go see a scary movie with Minnie. Just as the movie starts, a bony hand shoots out of a grave, scaring the black right off the mouse. When the inky part learns they are at a scary movie, it runs out of the movie theater. Mickey spends most of the episode chasing his dark half around town. He finally catches it and the two fling back into the theater, fighting their way through each of the movie screenings. The reach the screen of the scary movie and break through as the vampire starts to crawl out of his coffin. This, of course, scares the black off the rest of the patrons. But Mickey got his black back!

It has been awhile since I’ve been able to see a Mickey short. (I’m not sure who to blame – Disney’s scheduling issues or DirecTV not showing the episodes on their guide.) This was a pretty good episode to get back into the Mickey groove. The time spent running around town definitely had an old school vibe to it. It definitely made me miss the mouse and his antics. I hope Disney and DirecTV will let me watch more!
