Shorts Review: Mickey Mouse Shorts “Shifting Gears”

Mickey wants to go to the beach, but his car doesn’t want to go. The two duke it out for a while, but Mickey wins and the two go to the beach. Unfortunately, we learn why the car didn’t want to go in the first place…it’s too damn hot on top of that parking lot. Fortunately, Mickey checks in, and grabs his car a surf board. Now we head off into the sunset!

Our Take

It’s an interesting bit of TV this Friday Night, as I’ve had to review shows that take place in the fall, and shows that take place in the summer. In any case, this week’s short had a sweet ending, and more so than a lot of the episodes, showcased the power of a cartoon. A car coming to life and surfing would NEVER work in real life. But in Mickey’s world it works just fine.
