TV Land producing series inspired by Mike Tyson Mysteries producers
Deadline.com is reporting that TV Land has closed a deal with Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone for a single-camera comedy inspired by the lives of Mike Tyson Mysteries producers Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf, and Rachel Ramras. The show reportedly follows the real lives of the duo as they go from being improv stage actors with The Groundlings to that of cartoon producers while their friends become famous in movies and whatnot. Melissa McCarthy will guest star on the pilot.
Hugh, Larry, and Rachel have worked together for years, most importantly Mike Tyson Mysteries which is set to premiere its second season on Adult Swim this Fall. Moreover, Hugh has written a lot for Robot Chicken and is a part of the crew that works on the DC Comics crossover.
The pilot doesn’t have a name yet, however count me a customer if this one gets picked up.
