‘Cathy CK’ Merges ‘Cathy’ Cartoons with Louis CK

Remember the Cathy comic strip from the old Sunday morning newspapers? (Editor’s Note: Despite reading the funnies as a kid less than 20 years ago, I feel that question was akin to saying something like: “Back when my family used to gather around the radio…”) It was one of those strips most children probably skipped over, along with Family Circus, which were only read by post-menopausal women and kids with uber-religious upbringings, respectively.

Anyway, Cathy has been given a more sarcastic and offensive update, due to the replacement of her dialogue with hilarious Louis CK standup lines. Courtesy of Eric Simmons (Instagram: @thecathyck), Cathy CK gives the old cartoon the edge it needs to appeal to the younger generations, because let’s be honest: if Cathy suddenly started spouting lines like “Hey this is interesting; the other day a guy told me to suck a bag of dicks,” “I saw a lady the other day and she had a shirt that said, ‘Six months sober,’ and she was like, eight months pregnant,” and “When people are boring, I want to kill them,” we’d all be regular readers.
