Review: The 7D “Abraca-Dopey”

“Abraca-Dopey

Dopey tries his hand at being a magician and he’s pretty good. Unfortunately, things go awry when he turns Sleepy into a bear! He brings the hairy monster to his 7D brethren whom recruit it to help complete a dinner service with the Queen while Dopey works on a magic trick to bring him back. Turns out, magic wasn’t the culprit, just location…location…location. We learn that somehow the bear and Sleepy were switched while inside of Dopey’s box, and that’s how the bear became part of the act. An agreement is reached on where future magic shows can be held, and umm…guest stars!

Bears are scary, no surprise there. That said, I like this episode because it’s a nice departure from the ‘Hildy/Grim” stuff, but I thought I was REALLY going to love it, but didn’t. The idea of doing a whole episode with just Dopey and the bear running all over the place just looked sooo enticing, and not that I didn’t appreciate the diversion towards a proper 7d episode, I think the other route would have been way more Roadrunner/Coyote type deal. With everything accounted for, bears are a more than welcome guest star.
