Ratings Are In 12/8/14: Murray couldn’t save Friday Night for NBC

How Murray Saved Christmas - Season 2014

Unfortunately, the play to try and get original animation on NBC took a step back on Friday Night as How Murray Saved Christmas had so-so ratings though to be honest I question the lead-ins:

And a low was what NBC’s Constantine (0.8/3) hit also in preliminary results and what Grimm (1.1/4) tied. Neither was helped on a competitive night by the soft showing of new special How Murray Saved Christmas (0.9/3) that started the Peacock’s night. Coming out of that, Grimm was slipped 8% from its November 28 show. Its freshman lead-out, based on the classic DC Comics character, stumbled 12% from last week.

Why the fuck would you lead-in a comedy Christmas animated special with an hour of sci-fi? It will be interesting to see how NBC fairs with the Elf special coming tomorrow night, so we’ll see if people are just tired of animated Christmas specials or if How Murray Saved Christmas just wasn’t the answer for NBC cartoons.
