In the new issue of Shonen V Jump Magazine, the first visuals of next year’s Dragonball Z movie were released. The ad revealed the Title, “Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F (Dragon Ball Z: F Is For Fukkatsu, or ‘resurrection’ in English) and as you can see, shows the return of Frieza.

Also shown in the ad is Beerus, the main villain from last year’s Dragonball Z: Battle of the Gods movie along with two new characters who are survivors of Frieza’s former army.

Frieza, in Dragonball lore, was a tyrannical alien who commanded a large army to do his every bidding. His major goal was to search out planets to conquer, obliterate the inhabitants, and sell the planets to the highest bidder or just flat out blow the planet up. In a major story arc from the series, main character Goku and his friends fought Frieza and his army on the planet Namek before the alien was killed during a battle with Goku. Frieza made a few more appearances in both movies and the show since as either a cyborg or a dweller of hell.

The new movie is based of the concept and screen play from original Dragonball manga creator Akira Toriyama, and will be directed by Dragonball animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro. The movie will open in Japan on April 18 in both 2D and 3D. No announcement of an English language premiere has been made as of yet.
