Comics Review: Bob’s Burgers #3

Spoilers Below

Trick Shot Tina

Tina’s erotic fan fiction sees her as a gun-slinging sharp shooter that has to do battle with another girl for the right to bring Jimmy Jr. home. Obviously it’s her story and she gets to make ALL of the endings.

Louise’s Unsolved Mysteries

Louise builds a HUGE fort, but Bob gets so pissed he wants it knocked down in the morning. As a result, the kids decide to have one last go at it and they party so hard that the boxes disappear. Gotta love a kid’s imagination.

Guys and Frogs

Gene hauls in a bunch of frogs eggs into the restaurant and stores them in the basement. Eventually, the eggs turn into frogs and the babies swarm the restaurant. To try and get them out of town, Gene uses his keyboard to make fart sounds all the way to the creek, but just before the journey is over the keyboard dies. As a result, Gene has to actually fart the frogs the rest of the way home.

I didn’t much care for ‘Trick Shot Tina’, but the other two stories were a lot of fun. What kid didn’t build forts when they were younger? I mean, remember the days when kids built forts instead of diving their noses in iPads and iPhones? And Gene’s story was just plain adorable….and potentially smelly.

#3 is by far the best Bob’s Burgers issue so far released this year, but I’m still yearning for some ‘Bob and Linda’ plots. Also, the comic has yet to really take advantage of the show’s full cast of ancillary characters ala The Simpsons comics. However, this month’s issue does enough to suffice for value.
