Comics Review: Bart Simpson #92

A must-have issue.

Spoilers Below

Leader of the Backpack Pack

Bart hurts his back at school so he’s unable to carry around his back pack, instead having to roll around a wheelie-bag. At first, the kids at school and even HE hates the idea, but soon he finds out that being a wheelie isn’t so bad. Your back stays healthy, you get first crack at food, and you can make a group of nerdie friends and call yourselves the Wheelies. Eventually, Bart’s back feels better and the doc says he doesn’t have to use the wheelie bag anymore…much to his chagrin.

D’oh Unto Others

Bart launches a city-wide prank leaving all of Springfield to have to burn their clothes for fear of bed bugs. Eventually, Lisa finds out and Bart goes before a judge with a sentence that carries with it one hour of Bart standing in the rain wearing nothing but a wooden barrel. Fortunately, the rest of the town shows no hard feelings, but does that mean Bart learns his lesson? Unlikely.

This month’s issue of Bart was one of the best of the year if not the best. They both featured that classic Simpsons trope of learning your lessons, but if that if it involves Bart Simpson…maybe. Both were equally as funny efforts with the first one making me giggle at the sight of Bart and the nerds walking down the hall ways of Simpsons Elementary like the ‘Frat Pack’ and then in the next one, the efforts that Bart went to just to help burn all of Springfield’s clothing was hysterical. And yes, I would’ve liked maybe a Maggie’s short or maybe some Angry Dad shorts, but overall you get a solid package.
