Comedy Central to introduce ‘Moonbeam City’ at San Diego Comic Con 2014

Usually Comedy Central doesn’t really put a ton of stock into Comic Cons. The network which just received a record 20-something nominations usually relies on the clout of its stars that typically travel on stand-up comedy tours, showcases, and anyone watching South Park (which is usually me).

However, this year looks to be different. As for the first time in a couple of years, Comedy Central will be bringing a potential first-look at their upcoming animated series Moonbeam City which is being produced by Rob Lowe to San Diego Comic Con. Earlier this year, Rob told us exclusively about the series in a Reddit AMA chat:

Moonbeam City is a new cartoon that I am starring in for Comedy Central that probably won’t be on the air until very early next year, and it is hilarious, wildly politically incorrect, and very very very wrong. It takes place in Moonbeam City, America’s most swinging and dangerous city in 1985, and I am the coolest, most bitchin’ top cop, who probably causes more crimes than he actually solves. And (it stars) Will Forte, Kate Mara, and Elizabeth Banks. So it’s really too bad we couldn’t find anybody good.
