Paul Scheer is working on an animated series for Adult Swim (YES!!)

Paul Scheer is brilliant with his work on NTSF:SD:SUV and I was pissed to learn on a recent Yahoo interview that Paul decided to skip a season, but if this new animated series comes to fruition then I’m totally behind him!

Paul tells Yahoo that yes, he is working on an animated series for Adult Swim and right off the bat the pitch sounds brilliant:

“I’m working on a brand new cartoon for Adult Swim, which is kind of like a throwback to ‘G.I. Joe,’ but it’s like, ‘What would Cobra be doing now?’ They’re bankrupt and trying to make a go in this new world where villains aren’t necessarily needed.”

I for one recommend Paul take his ass over to Starburns Industries to start production on this right, fucking, now. Why Starburns? Well, the studios behind Rick and Morty recently did a G.I. Joe-inspired episode of Community and that came out fantastic. In any case, I hope this is an idea that comes to fruition sooner rather than later. This wouldn’t be Paul’s first time behind the voice-mic as he has done some guest spots on Life and Times of Tim and Bob’s Burgers, and he was a part of a pilot for Comedy Central that I don’t think is getting picked up.
