Shorts Review: Perks and Domination: Animal Abuse

Is this a Call of Duty show? Count me in!

For a while, the gaming animation genre has been mostly machinima. Recently, studios have been venturing out, and actually animating original shows based on games, like Call of Duty, and exploring other avenues. And with that, I give you Perks and Domination! The show is about a group of Call of Duty players who are putting together let’s play videos. Things go horribly awry, generally because of the team. It reminds me of a normal time playing CoD. Anyway, here’s the show!

CODFish is the guide in this episode, where Pops is trying to teach his dog how to play fetch with a rifle, when his son acts like 90% of the COD playerbase, and rips on Pops for his streak choices. Pops watches his dog get turned into Retriever Swiss, and debates whether his son is a psychopath. As this conversation goes nowhere, the small platoon of 12 year olds execute, then unload many clips into the now dead noob. CODFish talks Pops into shooting his own son, with a rocket launcher, saying it was for the best. The motto of the story is: “Who’s the noob now, bitch!”

Where the first one was awesome with the CODBros, the socio-pathic 12 year old sums up why playing COD online is about the most mind-numbing experience of any gamer’s life. Pops does what every person wants to do, and I thank the developers for putting a rocket launcher in the show. Surprisingly, I need more of Pops’s kid. This guy is the bad joke of every gaming troll ever, and he needs to be killed in every terrible way possible. CODFish needs a bit more of a role, considering he’s supposed to be the star of the let’s play. It’s a great show, and needs your attention.
