The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Key & Peele animated spin-off that was hinted at last year is officially in development for Comedy Central.

For those that don’t recall, Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele both made mention of a K&P inspired animated series being developed surrounding their popular post-show critics “Vandaveon & Mike” :

The animated entry, which is in development, features the characters as 12-year-old hall monitors navigating their way through middle school. Rodney Barnes (Everybody Loves Raymond, Boondocks) is on board to exec produce alongside Joel Zadak, Allen Fischer and Brian Dobbins.

Pretty awesome, and Comedy Central has just been CRUSHING the animated front as of late. Not only is their newest animated series hit Brickleberry working on a third season, but TripTank premiers next month, and Moonbeam City has been picked up for ten episodes. This is a complete 180 from last year when Comedy Central cancelled both Ugly Americans and Futuramaleaving their animated futures in the hands of just Brickle and the mammoth titan known as South Park.

What do you guys think? Are you fans of K&P? If so, are you excited for more??
