Al Jaffe Talks About The Fold-In That MAD Wouldn’t Run

Al Jaffe is a legend to anyone who knows anything at all about MAD magazine. He’s the guy that’s been creating the MAD fold-in for the past 50 years! There are grandparents on MTV younger than Jaffe’s career! Recently Yahoo ran an article about Jaffe and MAD and among the topics was a fold-in that MAD wouldn’t run about mass shootings. You can watch the video here. I really find it interesting that the reason they didn’t run the fold-in was because of the timing of a trial and that the topic itself wasn’t over the line. It’s also a staggering thought that 600,000 MAD Magazine’s had to be shredded over such a decision. But that’s show biz!
