I honestly am not all that familiar with Flight of the Concords, but Gonzo Green is evidently a huge fan and he says they are funny as hell. I even asked him if there was anything specific I should download or buy from the band and he recommended “I Told You I Was Freaky” which I will certainly get to when I get bored of the Metalocalypse Soundtrack that has me going now.

Well it turns out I may be getting to know half of the band quite a bit more as ScreenJunkies  (By way of TVGuideis reporting that Bret McKenzie from Flight of the Concords and FOX are teaming up to produce a new animated series with a bunch of the old King of the Hill writers. The series takes place in a NASA Space Center in Boulder, Colorado that is on the brink of closing.

Screenjunkies thinks this is a way to get rid of some of the Seth MacFarlane shows on Sunday Nights and I disagree for two reasons. 1) The Cleveland Show has already been cancelled and American Dad is moving to TBS. 2) I think this show sounds more like one that would fit in with the Saturday Night ADHD lineup rather than the Sunday Night lineup mainly due to the fact that the series doesn’t really revolve around any sort of a family which is usually Sunday night’s recipe.

No word yet on how far along the production of the series is, nor when it is going to air. We’ll keep our eyes opened but it looks like FOX is kicking the tires on the animated development front as this follows the recent news of Spike Feresten developing a show for FOX called Massholes.
