Review: American Dad “Steve and Snot’s Test-Tubular Adventure”

Spoilers Below

Some people consider American Dad! a “rip-off” of Family Guy without even considering that the series is MacFarlane’s second born.

Some people may also be wondering why a writer with the pen name “Lloyd TORONTO” is reviewing a show with AMERICAN in the title.

That, we are still trying to figure out.

Either way, yours truly is MORE than grateful to be graced with reviewing the final season (on FOX) of the best series featured on Animation Domination.

I’m more partial to the youngest of the MacFarlane family – any cancelled spin-offs are excluded, ahem.

But without further ado, and without spending too much time on why there was no newspaper gag in this season’s premier episode…

Sick of being bullied, Steve and Snot decide to clone prom dates to lose their virginity after learning that the CIA has developed a cloning machine when Stan brings home his new charge, a dodo named Darren.

After pursuing “DNA for their T’n’A”, the boys clone two prom dates from genetic materials recovered by desperate measures.

Although having the choice to clone either a generic clone or a Fly-Goldblum hybrid (I would personally choose Brundlefly), Steve and Snot end up creating two rapidly aging babies.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect when Steve calculates that the girls will be the ripe cherry poppin’ age for prom night, but find themselves in a bit of a conundrum when their patriarchic feelings take over.

When Stan learns of his son’s arrangement, he gets decked out in his Deckard-esque trench coat and packs a similar gun the Blade Runner uses when collecting replicant bounties. Viewers are even treated to a few parody scenes straight out of Blade Runner (the greatest science fiction film ever made).
