Bob’s Burgers 5th Season pick up definitely poses more questions for Fall 2014…

 

You know what five seasons gets you when you are an animated series? A ‘legit’ name tag. That’s because the vast majority of the shows that come on TV very seldom make it out past the first season. Futurama got cancelled AGAIN for the umpteenth time, and we also saw promising upstarts like Out There and Bounty Hunters greeted with a shiny axe.

So, when Bob’s Burgers got a fifth season pickup from FOX I definitely felt a sigh of relief and with the Molyneux sisters getting a re-up at FOX it means we are getting a bunch more quality episodes on the way.

However, this is what FOX’s lineup OFFICIALLY looks like for 2014:

7:30pm-??

8pm-The Simpsons

830-Bob’s Burgers

9pm- Family Guy

9:30- ??

American Dad is moving to TBS,  and with Murder Police starting in January it looks as though we don’t yet sure-fire players in the other two time-slots when the Fall 2014 season commences. I could definitely see FOX using the 7:30pm slot for The O.T. Show for FOX football, but what happens in January 2015 when Football is pretty much over? Could this pave the way for additional show pickups???

FOX has been experimenting a little more with the 9:30pm slot having put in reruns of the awful Dads show this past weekend, and when Animation Domination HD premiered it did so with a sneak peek on a Sunday Night after Family Guy. Could a crossover with Futurama later this year be a peek into FOX bringing back one-time successful franchises? 24 is doing a special mini-series so maybe FOX is going to start giving us more flashes to the past.

In any case, congrats to the guys over at Bob’s Burgers…because at least that’s ONE question we don’t need answered.
