Review: Arby ‘N’ The Chief Season 7, Episode 21

Spoilers Below

Gee whiz, was the last Arby N the Chief awkward or what? Pedophile/murder/dead baby jokes to kick it off, then Eugene’s sister died, Cortana accused Chief of being in love with her, and – on top of his recent, devastating loss – Eugene’s girlfriend Michelle told him she’s leaving him, after finding out about his shenanigans with the clan, as well as his berating of a young boy. Heavy.

But Arbiter and Master Chief apparently don’t need to worry about smoking near the window anymore, so that’s good, right?

This episode was clearly necessary for the continuation of the plot, as the duo decided to use Jon’s credit card to buy a new Xbox to take down the clan members. In the end I honestly would have liked more jokes, obviously, but with the current direction and tone the show has taken, I understand.

Of course there was an intense moment right before the credits – as always – and I will still be eagerly awaiting the release of next week’s installment.

By the way: were Eugene and Michelle only dating in the game? They must be, considering she broke it off with him while playing Halo. I mean, I guess that’s also the only way for us (the viewers) to see it – but come on, if they dated outside of the game then that would be the lamest dump ever. Well, except for that time Al Roker dumped in his pants at the White House [editor’s note: true story]. And on that topic, why would he publicly admit to people he did that? It’s not like anyone would’ve suspected it was him, or even known that it happened. This world confuses me. ChefRich, pass the Maker’s Mark.
