@AdultSwim crashes @ADHD ‘s party!

Friendly fire or acts of war?

Adult Swim

So, let’s set the stage. Here I am starting what would eventually be close to 48 hours of no sleep whilst watching Axe Cop and High School USA! this past Saturday Night’s ADHD on FOX with ChefRich in tow. Well, guess who was there to try and spoil the show??? ADULT SWIM! Yep, Adult Swim bought ad time and in normal Adult Swim fashion put up a whole host of bumps on rival network FOX. Here’s how it went down:

Adult Swim would post the following bumps ON FOX!

The preceding content has been a work of fiction

“Any resemblance to networks, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Pay close attention to the label. Many suitcases look alike. You may find yourself at a beautiful network with a beautiful suitcase. You may ask yourself: How did I get here? [adult swim]”

“Congratulations to the crew at ADHD on the launch of their new shows. We wish you all the best…. Nice place you got here… How are the kids?… Great, Great stuff. We’re going to go home now [adult swim].”

KaBOOOOM! Yep, Adult Swim officially made this a bit of a fight.  However, ADHD didn’t go quietly as EP of ADHD and former Adult Swim dude Nick Weidenfeld had THIS to say on his Twitter account:

“@adultswim THANK YOU FOR YOUR MONEY” \“We love Adult Swim and we’re happy to receive both their attention and their ad dollars!”

I think the idea that Nick turned this into a business joke was kinda of iffy because I think Adult Swim got what they wanted out of that response. The bumps I think were a tad personal directed at Nick Weidenfeld and Nick responded back with money which I guess is a decent comeback, but overall I have to serve this point to the Turner-owned network.

Although, why is Adult Swim caring THAT much. They really have nothing on but reruns on Saturday Nights any how aside from a couple of shows on Toonami which doesn’t even begin to air until 1am, a couple of hours post ADHD. I’m thinking Adult Swim shouldn’t feel threatened at this juncture as the network has a BUNCH of shows coming up for the rest of the year where as FOX MAYBE has two more shows post Axe Cop and High School USA!

In any case, are we just getting started in a long battle? At the end of the year, only WE will know the winners because we are keeping tabs on what both networks are doing better than anyone.
