Spoilers Below

With Stan leading a tour, Waddles and Mabel have the whole house to themselves. However, when Stan gets home you can tell he isn’t crazy about Waddles and this comes to fruition when Mabel leaves to buy a new accessory for Waddles leaving her Grunkle home in charge. This isn’t a great idea because Waddles can cause mischief and he does just that causing Stan to make Waddles hang out outside for a bit while he satisfies some customers.

Meanwhile Soos and Dipper are out solving the mystery of cop a local cop car got’s roof removed…and more importantly who did it! If the guys grab pics, they could be seen as local heroes! They set a trap and the camera goes off so yea they may have something! Unfortunately, as Dipper is developing the photos Soos opens up the dark room causing a whole bunch of sunlight to come in and ruin the photos that Dipper got.  Yea, he’s pissed thinking he’d never get to see this monster again, but Dipper’s luck changes when a chained up Waddles causes the monster to swoop down and snatch the poor little piglet whilst he is wearing one of Mabel’s red yarn sweaters. When the now discovered Pterodactyl takes off with Waddles, all of the yarn unravels leaving a pretty obvious trail for the entire crew to go and retrieve Waddles and bring him home safely.

Mabel finds out about her pig being taken and of course she is heartbroken, so Dipper leads the crew. However, Stan isn’t being honest about what actually happened with the pig and Dipper isn’t being honest about Soos’ clumsiness that usually leads to trouble. Old Man McGucket joins the fray and together they discover where this Pterodactyl came from. Turns out, there’s a whole cave FILLED with dinosaurs lodged in melting sap making it possible that anyone of these creatures could come out and wreak havoc. However, an argument ensues and everyone’s skeletons come out of the closet, Dipper about Soos and of course Stan coming clean to Mabel. Everyone gets especially pissed off when Soos destroys the lantern but the Old Man fixes it in time to find the Pterodactyl.

The Pterodactyl runs off, but Mabel follows the squeals of Waddles leading them to the Pterodactyl nest. Once there, the Old Man gets eaten and Waddles and Stan fall to another forest down below. At first, Stan wants to give the Pterodactyl the pig no questions asked. However, he soon starts to like the little guy and as such offers to fight for him! Meanwhile, Soos concocts a plan that gets the kids away from the nest safely so now he looks good, too. Immediately after, here comes Stan kicking the shit out of this Pterodactyl whilst flying on top of him carrying Waddles in a harness! Everyone lands, and the crew takes off with the Pterodactyl chasing after. With no rope, Soos causes a geyser to explode leading everyone to the surface safe and sound. Everyone patches things up and we have one happy family. But, could more dinos be on the way?

A very good episode of Gravity Falls and after I don’t know how long it was great to see the show return. This week’s episode was a whole lot of fun and to be honest I can’t get enough of Waddles. The son of a bitch is so cute you can’t help but feel for him. The Old man was kinda the best, and Stan beating the hell out of a Pterodactyl was one of the highlights of this still going Season 1. I would like to see future dinosaur episodes, but couldn’t help but feel slighted that the initial premise to launch this possible arc was more or less ripped from Jurassic Park. Like RIPPED. However, I can’t complain. Gravity Falls returns to form with a fiery roar.
