Review: The Cleveland Show ‘Grave Danger’

 Spoilers Below

Rallo goes to his dad Robert’s house in East Stoolbend for the weekend, but the old man skips for Baltimore leaving his son all by himself. The little tyke sees this as a golden opportunity to show everyone he is a grown up and he can do just fine on his own as opposed to called Donna to come pick him up. The next day, Rallo meets some punk kids whom convince him to push over a fat kid and steal his basketball. Then, the kids end up in a Apple store after church, but the street kids decide to tag a stolen iPhone on Rallo. Not wanting to get in trouble, Rallo smashes the iPhone and then runs away just in time to catch Robert’s return trip from Baltimore.   Robert drops off Rallo back at his mom’s house, but eventually the East kids show up with pictures showing off all the bad things he done as a stark contrast to the tales Rallo has been telling his friends.

Meanwhile, Cleveland and the gang are getting tired of the local bar scene so they decide to go to the cemetery to hang out with cold ones. After spending the whole day, a random dude walks up and offers money to the guys in exchange for them attending a funeral. Despite the fact that Cleveland has never met this dude nor know who is about to be buried, he decides to join up.  Eventually, the scam turns into a nice little business, as not only are Tim, Ernie, Colt, the Dr., and Cleveland attending these weddings, but Cleveland’s even doing eulogies, consoling loved ones, and being a swell dude.  When Donna finds out, she cashes in her ‘Forbid’ coupon and tells her husband to stop doing it despite the fact that he decided to stop charging people altogether.

This week’s episode of Cleveland Show was pretty funny and I particularly liked the introduction of the East Stoolbend kids and thought they could be used more in future episodes. That’s the one thing that gets me about The Cleveland Show, they have a bunch of great ideas but more often than not they just leave us with retread. That said, this week Rallo brought on a rather entertaining story line as did Cleveland of whom showed up strong whilst in the cemetery. I couldn’t help but get a Wedding Crashers vibe seeing him move from service to service, and it was working great but at the end of the day we get the whole ‘Donna disproves’ plot device that gets used a million times over. That said, Rallo’s plot brought the goods this week, its just too bad this show is in grave danger as is.
