Review: Fish Hooks ‘See Bea Ski.’; Night at the Loxbury

Spoilers Below

See Bea Ski

The guys and girls are skiing, but Milo decides to go tell stories with his new friends over at the cocoa bar.  Its also ea’s first time skiing, and she slams into a bunch of rabbits while darting down a slope. As a result, the snow bunnies challenge the fish to a ski off. The girls  decide to train with Finberley of whom is actually very good at skiing, but she gets hurt and some guy named  Shaun Whitefish shovels her away. This leaves the other girls without a tutor but at least they ski unlike Oscar of whom is afraid to even get off the lift! Turns out these snow bunnies have a track record of taking skiiers out of the game, but Bea isn’t afraid and neither are her friends. Unfortunately, everyone leaves their skis back at the lodge, so Bea uses Whitefish as a snowboard.

Randy looks to get in on Milo’s free hot chocolate-story hour by coming up with fake stories of his own so he can get in on the free drinks of which works like a  charm.  As a result, Milo tells a story whilst the girls are having their ski fight, and somehow he tells it just like it happens. The girls win and everyone goes back to the lodge for chocolate, cept Oscar of whom is still on the lift.

We’ve been getting a lot of competition episodes this season, but its hard not to love them when they feature brutal battles like the one we saw in this week’s climax. Shaun White played a great Whitefish, and to be honest he sounded a tad like Roiland’s Oscar. The ending of the original plot was somewhat predictable as everyone and their brother could tell you that Bea was going to win, but the animation is so superb, the fights are great, and then Oscar and Milo do a great job of putting in their two cents that help disperse of any monotony..in 12 minutes??? How do they do that????

Night at the Loxbury

Coach Salmon tells Oscar, Milo, and Bea all about dancing at a club called the ‘Loxbury’.  Bea tells her friends, but no one is allowed to go inside to go dancing so they decide to change the Hokey Poke Diner into a dance club named Party Poke.  Unfortunately, on the first night no one is their cept for the founders, so the crew goes over to the Loxbury to invite people from there over to the new spot and BAM the place is popping! That said, the Chief isn’t crazy about all these people and no food being sold, so he tells the kids they better sell some food or the place will be shut down.

Milo institutes a new policy where if you order food now, you don’t have to pay until later, leaving him to charge everything to a line of credit. Unfortunately, Salmon never pay their food bills, and Chief just put out a BUNCH of free food. Before the diner goes out of biz, Coach Salmon tells Milo to get the other club hoppers to swim upstream to the Loxbury club but he needs a good bait. In this case, FREE FOOD!  Milo baits the salmon into going back to their old club, and the kids now have to help the Chief get the diner back to normal. But, what about the new froggy club?? NO!!

I thought this was going to be a lot better than it was due to the title of the episode being inspired by one of my favorite movies Night at the Roxbury, but all in all Richard Simmons saves all.  This episode of Fish Hooks didn’t exactly have me dancing the night away like the previous one, but its still one of the best shows on TV.
