Review: Archer ‘Sea Tunt: Part 1’

Overview (Spoilers Below)

A B52 bomber is downed in the Bermuda Triangle so ISIS has to go get it. Set to lead the charge is Cheryl’s bro Cecil of whom has experience in these matters. In this case those matters include getting an H-bomb that Malory plans to use as a bargaining chip for the US government. Its here we also learn of Cheryl’s feud with die-hard vegan and probably a bitch Tiffy of whom is helping to fly the chopper everyone is taking to the crash site. Whilst on said trip, Archer gets shitty drunk, Lana complains about the ethics of the whole deal, Pam gets sick on vegan seafood, and Cheryl goes nuts and smashes into Tiffy which almost causes the chopper to crash!

That said, all of this was a lot of trouble for nothing as Cecil comes clean that there really is no bomb and that he lured ISIS out here so he can prove that his sister is nuts, film it, and win her half of the Tunt inheritance. The chopper lands on a cargo ship, and its here that Cecil talks of one of his investments biting him in the ass. This one involving a certain sea captain named Murphy who is threatening to pretty much start reigning chaos ALL over.

Our Take

And how bout them apples, folks?? Jon Hamm makes his debut as the Captain and all it did was just get me PUMPED for a new episode next week. This week’s episode was for the most part rather ordinary was it not?? Archer gets drunk, Pam gets fat, Malory’s trying to make some cash, and Lana complains about it. Kristen Schall as Tiffy was wildly underutilized and I couldn’t help but think of Louise from Bo’s or Mabel from Falls whenever she talked leading me to believe she may be best served playing youngsters whilst voice-acting. Eugene as Cecil was a lot better as he was able to kind of put on a grown up voice as compared to his role as Gene in Bob’s. That ending and the twist near the end was all sex though, and yea there were some decent one-liners from Sterling, but I think next week is going to blow us all away.
