COULD ARCHER END UP ON A DIFFERENT NETWORK???

It sounds unthinkable, but could we one day get Archer on a different network? After the jump, check out what we mean.

If I were to give you the date of when Archer premiered on FX, would you believe me??? The show premiered January 14th, 2010 so that would make this past week the three year anniversary of its premier.  Since, then the FX Network has turned from a network that was maybe struggling to find its identity, to a multimedia powerhouse that counts Sons of Anarchy, Justified, and Louie as broadcast television juggernauts that every other network is now trying to copy one way or another. That said, with new arrivals like UFC, one might think FX might again be in the middle of an identity crisis as the network has probably a more dramatic element than comedy one. Don’t believe me?? Look at a calendar of all FX shows, and you will notice that Thursday is the only comedy night of the week. So what can we do??

Well, how about a new network? According to Deadline.com, FX is considering the idea of shutting down the god-awful FOX Soccer network, and reboot it as a sister network called FXX. According to the article, FXX may be a network that is geared toward a slightly younger audience with original comedy programming ala Comedy Central. Similar to said Comedy Central and its worldwide comedic juggernaut known as South Park, Archer could be a great way to launch the network and even help expand its animated lineup. Wanna know why Unsupervised didn’t work??? Because, it went up against Jersey Shore! If the show was on a different night of the week not paired up with a drama, the show could have maybe succeeded.

That said, the development of the new network is in the early stages, but could be here by September. Soccer fans shouldn’t worry either because FOX Sports is also going to be a network to replace Speed so you’ll get your not-a-sport fix soon enough. Your thoughts??
