Robot Chicken had a bunch of press this year but MAD continues to add to its already stellar lineage with this win. After winning an Emmy for his work on Robot Chicken, show creator Kevin Shinick created a series with a brand name that is synonymous with satire, rifled with controversy, and filled with gooey funny. To be honest, one probably wold have though Kevin was crazy for taking on the task of bringing this show to a network geared towards young lads after years of MadTV winning Emmys for its more adult audience helping launch now notable names like Will Sasso, Alex Borstein, Frank Caliendo, and more.

2012 saw Mad switch up time slots moving from Mondays to Thursdays but the year also brought along with it a great variety of sketches using lots of different animation techniques, from Flash to hand-drawn all the way to stop-mo and CG. But, more importantly than the look of the program is the stellar writing mixing classic sketches like Spy vs Spy with kicks in the collective nuts of pop culture at the expense of Will Smith, Justin Bieber, and the Twilight douches. Take all this into account and add the growing cast of notable voice-over names like Aqua Teen’s Dana Snyder, and you’ve got yourself a winner.
