REVIEW: CRASH AND BERNSTEIN “PARTY CRASHER”

Crash gets buffed up when he is invited to a school party.

Spoilers Below

Pesto wants on Amanda but of course some new guy comes along that’s more her age and as such is able to drive and buy milkshakes. His name is Trey and he and Amanda become an item with the latter being invited to a high school pool party. Pesto really wants in and Crash & Bernstein are looking to help…welp more Crash than Bernstein!  As such, the stuffed one starts to but the budding pre-teens on a regiment that includes nasty green drinks that includes a bunch of high fat ingredients which causes Crash to get really STUFFED. Thankfully, Cleo is around with her ‘tricks of the trade” that allows Crash to slim down to the size of a small blanket.

Later, Amanda screws up on her baked goods, and the boys are having an identity crisis. To make matters worse, Cleo opens up a gym in the apartment causing Crash to get HUGE but serves up a bad attitude. Wyatt tries his hand at working out as does Pesto but no matter what they can’t seem to get invited to the high school party. Fortunately, Wyatt is able to get Amanda to extend an invite in exchange for talking up his sister’s good qualities but Crash ruins it by spilling a drink in Trey’s bike helmet! To try and cover his ass, Crash makes up a bunch of fake stories to Wyatt and Pesto which gets them real upset and out for revenge. As a result, Wyatt decides to go down to Trey’s house to clear his name but the truth comes out and Crash comes clean about his lies which gets them all into the party. Turns out the party is filled with kids who love cheese and RC Copters which turns off Amanda and sends her home!

Overall, ‘Party Crasher’ had a bit of a formulaic premise but Crash is such a wild card that with him constantly going it definitely spices things up a bit. This is a good thing because Aaron Landon’s character Pesto is really starting to irk me with his ridiculous rolled up dress shirts and macho attitude. Also, I hope they expand on Oana Gregory’s character a bit more as I feel the typical ‘dumb blonde’ motif is starting to get old and already we are seeing shades of what to expect for future episodes. Whomever played Trey was kind of boring, but he did help lead an interesting plot that come up with a great twist ending that certainly put a smile on my face all the meanwhile teaching a valuable lesson.
