REVIEW: AQUA SOMETHING YOU KNOW WHATEVER “TOTEM POLE”

A metal band has a strange request.

Spoilers Below

Carl has a bunch of tickets to go see legendary metal act Totem Pole at the local HS gym, and despite the tickets being free Frylock wants no part of it leaving Shake and Meatwad to go with him instead. However, when the show starts Meatwad splits as does pretty much all of the crowd except Shake and Carl. Soon enough, Carl points out Lenny the troll of whom is the band’s mascot, casually sitting over next to the merch booth minding his own business. Eventually, that ‘own business’ garage is short-lived because Carl gets grabbed by security and then his head shoved up Lenny’s ass! And if that wasn’t bad Shake somehow gets HIS head shoved up Carl’s ass! Doing this causes some sort of deal where skeletons are summoned but at first, they don’t look too bad just wanting to enjoy the show but the band decides to high-tail it out of there so as to make their next gig in DC. Eventually, the troll gets bored of Carl and removes himself of his enema leaving just Carl and Shake behind to fight off the skeletons!

Yep, skeletons. But enough about them. Do your kids know who Wolfchant is? They are an East German folk metal band and not even one of the better known Nordic bands, when compared to the likes of Emperor or Amon Amarth. But for fucks sake they guest-starred in Aqua Teen and Lord Jesus they were pretty damn good.  However, just sitting here watching Carl, Shake and the troll for a while got boring kind of fast, but really I can’t complain much this season as the guys did a pretty god damn good job if I do say so myself showing that not only does Aqua still have legs in the echelon of animated entertainment, but the show stands tall and as such proves why Shake and Co. ARE Adult Swim, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
