FROM THE PRODUCERS OF ROBOT CHICKEN(@CYBORGTURKEY) COMES “STAR WARS DETOURS”

I am the worst Star Wars fan ever in the sense that I have really never sat through any of the movies because usually I get a massive headache. Evidently there are a lot of you out there however because recently the Star Wars Celebration Convention happened and at it Seth Green and Matt Seinreich finally unveiled their long-rumored Stars Wars animated sitcom known as Star Wars Detours.

The best way I can really describe it after seeing the trailers and what not is think of the CGI style that the Clone Wars uses then mash that with Robot Chicken style humor maybe turned down a few notches for the youngins’ and then place them in the New Hope setting and there it is. Don’t worry there is a trailer underneath so you can see it for yourselves but I do have some questions.

1) IGN.com got wind of the SLEW of people writing and voicing for this show with huge names coming from the likes of Daily Show, Regular Show, Venture Bros., Family Guy, The Simpsons,  and more. My question is will the humor reflect these shows or will it be toned down a bit for the predominately PG crowd of Star Wars.

2) With its CG animation, can it be taken seriously? I know a lot of people disgruntled by Clone Wars, it will be interesting to see if Seth and Co. can distinguish the two brands.

3) Isn’t the voice talent awesome?? Ok, so this question is easier to answer but we have Seth MacFarlane, Billy Dee Williams, Seth Green, Donald Faison, Zachary Levi, and a whole shit ton more!

Ok, yes even a non-Star Wars fan like my self is getting excited, that said check out the trailer and you can see a bunch more clips over on www.starwars.com plus mosey on over to the official Facebook page to keep up to date. No word yet on date/time/network but my guess is 8pm Cartoon Network next winter 2013.
