ANIMATED EMMYS 2012 ANNOUNCED

This thing is so fucking rigged. Do the Emmy people even really watch cartoons??? After the jump, see what I mean…

I’ve got my own 2 cents to add to this list of which I am pretty sure was just randomly picked shows out of the hat.

Outstanding Animated Program
American Dad! – Fox Television Animation
Bob’s Burgers – BentoBox Entertainment
Futurama (The Tip Of The Zoidberg) – The Curiosity Company in association with 20th Century Fox Television
The Penguins Of Madagascar (The Return Of The Revenge Of Dr. Blowhole) – Nickelodeon and DreamWorks Animation
The Simpsons (Holidays Of Future Passed) – Gracie Films in association with 20th Century Fox Television

American Dad wasn’t all that great this past season so I have no clue why that made the list, and neither was The Simpsons although I am sure that’s going to be the winner considering the banner year it’s been for the log time animated series which included the 500th episode and Matt Groening’s star on the Walk of Fame. Bob’s Burgers is certainly a worthy contender as is Futurama, but what the fuck is this?? The Penguins of Madagascar??? Shouldn’t that be the Daytime Emmys??? Fuck me…

Outstanding Short-format Animated Program
Adventure Time (Too Young) – Cartoon Network Studios
Disney Phineas And Ferb (The Doonkleberry Imperative) – Disney Channel
MAD (Kitchen Nightmare Before Christmas / How I Met Your Mummy) – Warner Bros. Animation
Regular Show (Eggscellent) – Cartoon Network Studios
Robot Chicken (Fight Club Paradise) – Stoopid Monkey, Shadow Machine, Williams Street

Similar to the Penguins, Adventure Time should be on the Daytime Emmys, not saying its a bad show just not for this list. Everything else looks good and we love Robot Chicken and MAD we just don’t get to write about them a lot because they are sketch series and its hard to review those. I like the battle between Phineas and Ferb and Regular Show but I think the Disney show takes it.

Outstanding Voice-Over Performance

Disney Phineas And Ferb: Across The 2nd Dimension – Disney Channel
Dan Povenmire as Doctor Doofenshmirtz

Disney Prep & Landing: Naughty Vs. Nice – Walt Disney Animation Studios
Rob Riggle as Noel

Futurama • The Silence Of The Clamps – The Curiosity Company in association with 20th Century Fox Television
Maurice LaMarche as Clamps, Donbot, Hyperchicken, Calculon, Hedonismbot, Morbo

The Looney Tunes Show • Double Date – Warner Bros. Animation
Kristen Wiig as Lola

The Simpsons • Moe Goes From Rags To Riches – Gracie Films in association with 20th Century Fox Television
Hank Azaria as Moe Szyslak, Duffman, Mexican Duffman, Carl, Comic Book Guy, Chief Wiggum

No clue why Looney Tunes or Prep & Landing are on this list but Hank Azaria is one of the finest voice actors of our generation. Maurice LaMarche is a badass too especially as Clamps who is typically funny as hell. Dan Povenmire as Doof is very underrated but also a great choice.
