#4 OF THE 10 BEST ANIMATED SERIES ON TELEVISION IN 2012…SO FAR

We are at the halfway point of our fair television viewing year and as such we thought it’d be bad ass to do a list of the highest scoring animated series of 2012…so far. After the jump, see who made the list with contributions made by all of our writers. Now to see who is number 4 on the best animated series in the first half of 2012.

#4

Some might be weirded out by the fact that we picked a cancelled show as a top 4 pick in the best animated series of the year so far. Welp, great shows get cancelled all the time doesn’t mean they weren’t quality programs, it just means that some higher up at the network just looks at the bottom line in terms of numbers and makes a decision based off of that. I’d rather a quality program any day of the week over some off the assembly piece of shit that happens to air right before a big show so it gets big ratings.

With all that said, The Life and Times of Tim not only was the best animated series in the history of HBO (fuck, Spawn) it still is probably the most socially accurate show in animation. How many animated series deal with an unwed couple trying to pay the bill in a terrible economy. And in NYC, mind you! Think about it, with all of that what was going on with the Occupy Wall Street movement, creator Steve Dildarian took a more pragmatic approach to telling everybody that the job market sucks by having Tim setup with a number of different job titles like sausage salesman, coach of a Newark girls basketball team, all the way to being named the new spokesperson for the company that fired him in the first place…Omnicorp. Yes, The Life and Times of Tim got cancelled by a network that probably should have never had the program to begin with, but god damn it, in an insane world, this show is for certain the sanest choice for the best animated series in 2012…so far,
