Spoilers Below

The cat belonging to Dan’s next door neighbor Honey is being held captive and she needs his help. However, Dan’s not much help because he ruins the poor lady’s house even before he started, Unfortunately, when Dan returns home, his cat Mr. Mumbles is nowhere to found…the cat burglar STRIKES TWICE! Dan at first does the sensible thing and calls the authorities, but they really don’t care. As a result, Dan enlists the help of Chris who noticed someone’s used eye shadow in Dan’s  wastebasket. Eventually, the guys track down the only store in town that sells the eye shadow but get the crap kicked out of them, and thrown the hell out. Thankfully, Chris was able to find Honey’s address on the wall and both of them are able to make way to her pad where they subject her to a line of questioning.

Its here Honey tells Dan about Frankie the Poacher, a rare cat dealer and a corrupt one at that. They end up following the suspect but Dan really uses this as an opportunity to hit on Honey until they finally reach a gas station an get in on the wrong side of a beat down. The henchmen run away but Dan, Chris, and Honey are able to catch up and knock one of them out in front of a large barn filled with animals. Its here that Dan finds Honey’s cat Mr. Poopsie and sends Honey off, only to leave Dan and Chris behind. Dan and Chris get captured and thrown in a cage with a big cat but are able to get out without a scratch. The guys leave the barn and ensue on a high speed car chase with the henchmen which ends in a crash. Its here Frankie tells Dan that he never took Mumbles and he’s got the wrong guy. Turns out the culprit was under Dan’s nose the whole time!

I gotta tell ya, whatever the producers of Dan Vs., are selling, I’m buying because they were on top of their game this week. No one’s ever done a real good noir style take on an animated show that I can really remember, and even if I were to remember it that would not have been good as Catburglar. The plot was smart, Dan and Chris were funny, and I’d be tempted to say Dan Vs is as good as anything that any other network has on.  Speaking of network, if you were around for Friday’s preview, you would notice that the trailer pretty much spoiled the ending, clearly showing the growing pains of a young network.
