Review: The Simpsons “The Ten-Per-Cent Solution”

Spoilers Below

When the Simpsons attend the closing of the History of TV museum, they run into Krusty’s old agent and former love interest, Annie.  Just in time too because they cancel his show and his manager drops him. Of course she takes him back and turns him back from a kid’s act to a show that grown-ups can enjoy. With this success, Krusty and Annie’s feelings for each other resurface. Almost too much! Because as Krusty’s career starts to come back with a HBOWTIME gig, Annie gets too protective and beings terrorizing any and all that gets in Krusty’s way.  The network gets pissed, so it attempts to upstage Krusty with random guest JANEANE GAROFALO!

Of course we learn that if you can’t make it in real TV, you turn to reality TV, and Krusty and Annie jump right on that bandwagon.

Wow, Hitler, Black Swan, and Social Network were all the Itchy and Scratchy episodes. Kudos to the King of the Hill shout out and the accurate animated depiction of the Ricky Gervais show. Take all this and you already have a great episode, the Joan Rivers guest spot worked, but nothing like the unexpected surprise of the super-hot Janeane Garofalo! She was the best, and even though the Simpsons weren’t the focal point this week, it was nice seeing a satire of how the TV industry really works with the best Clown in the business.
