Review: Allen Gregory “Mom Sizemore”

So when Allen is in sex ed, he learns the ways of the birds and the bees. Its here where Allen gets confused as to where babies come from. Its not all his fault, however because for years Rich has been telling Allen that he doesn’t have a mom, but as it turns out, he DOES! Finding this new information has Allen interested in finding out who his mom is, so after a snatch and grab at the Hall of Records, he learns that he was birthed from a surrogate mother whom works at the local diner.

Allen arranges for his parents to finally meet at a fancy restaurant where Rich tells his son how the process works at sperm banks…pretty much where he leaves off and Sheila then takes the “ball” and runs with it. Its here Allen attempts to make his parents fall in love during family day, all in an attempt to get rid of Jeremy. As it turns out, Richard can’t fuck women, but Jeremy leaves him anyway. However, despite all this his son is thrilled that the whole family is back which causes Rich to get depressed.  Soon enough, Allen finds out that Sheila is a serious mom, and all of a sudden wants Jeremy back!

The only thing Jonah Hill did wrong on Animation Domination tonight was host the thing, because he just looked completely bored and out of his element. What he did give us was quite possibly the best episode of Allen Gregory thus far. This is how the show should be in my opinion, yes you can have ruthless name calling, but having ONE singular plot line works best in this environment. Seeing Richard actually CARE! That’s the most shocking thing…even Allen cared at times with having the whole family together, complete with Lisa Kudrow who simply BELONGS on this show. Throw in the musical family outing montage, and you got a winner in my book.
