Review: Allen Gregory “Full Blown Maids”

Episode Synopsis: Allen gets a lesson in racial sensitivity from his teacher after thinking a Hispanic classmate is a janitor, but the message doesn’t exactly sink in when Allen writes a play depicting his unique perspective of his mistake. Meanwhile, Richard finds a new job for Jeremy: his maid.

Spoilers Below

When Allen catches the Hispanic maid using the bathroom, he fires her johnny-on-the-spot(for anyone else this would be weird). this carries over into lunch at school as AG mistakes Guillermo at school for being a maid, and thus firing him as well. Allen’s teacher is pissed and makes him write an essay and of course he makes Patrick do it. But, Rich gives him another idea, go back to school and teach Gina a lesson! As such, he puts together a school play to get back at her. He of course writes the most racist script and Gina tries to put a stop to it but fails miserably. Of course when the show goes on, the crowd gets pissed and turns on AG, until he breaks the ‘fourth wall’ and actually makes a moral of the story by explaining that racism is wrong.

Jeremy’s temp job has expired and he needs a new gig. Luckily he stumbles into a new job…at his OWN HOUSE WORKING AS A MAID! Jeremy doesn’ like it though because Rich is a dick and makes him dress up in maid clothes.  So, eventually he quits!

MUCH better show. There were good jokes and it wasn’t all about AG and Rich shitting on their significant others. Also, I am really liking Gina and Allen’s on-screen banter because unlike all of Allen’s other victims, Gina actually sticks up or herself and dishes it out.  Lastly, I thought it was interesting the scene where AG talks Jules into being in the play and she obliges after a bit of coercion on Allen’s part. It showed that everyone has a weakness, even the good guys(or girls).
