There is Now an Actual Game of Knifey Spoony from the “Bart vs. Australia” ‘Simpsons’ Episode
Remember that classic episode of The Simpsons where the family goes to Australia? If so, you’ll likely recall the scene where Bart was playing with a small pocket knife and a Crocodile Dundee knock-off approached him saying Paul Hogan’s famous line: “That’s not a knife; this is a knife.” Bart pointed out that it was actually a spoon, and the Aussie replied, “Alright, alright, you win. I see you’ve played Knifey Spoony before.”
If you have any sense of humor, you likely laughed at the movie reference. You probably chuckled at the ridiculousness of the situation. However, what you probably didn’t do, was wonder what the hell “Knifey Spoony” actually was. And you definitely didn’t treat it as a real game and actually record the rules of said game, unless you’re an imgur user named richyrichuk and were making a present for someone close to you.
But the rules aren’t the impressive part, since they’re basically just an extrapolation of the brief Simpsons scene. What is remarkable, however, (besides the level of fandom expressed) is the craftsmanship that went into the box containing the game. For more photos, click the imbedded link.
