“The Simpsons” 30th Season Gets Premiere Date
That was fast.
The Simpsons officially wrapped a mind-boggling 29th season last night with a stellar episode, but fans are already pining as to when the longest-running animated series in primetime is going to return. Welp, executive producer Al Jean has announced that the 30th season of The Simpsons will premiere on September 30th @ 8 pm ET/PT, only on FOX.
Chances are FOX’s other two animated comedies, Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy will return on or close to that date (the network gets finicky with Bob’s Burgers premiere), however, we do know that all three series have been picked up with additional seasons set to premiere this Fall.
As for The Simpsons, the first episode slated to premiere appears to be “Lisa Has A Crush On Homer” followed by ‘Tis The 30th Season’ though that could change.
THE SIMPSONS continues to strike a chord with viewers for irreverently poking fun at anything and everything. With its subversive humor and delightful wit, the series has made an indelible imprint on American pop culture, and its family members – HOMER (Dan Castellaneta), MARGE (Julie Kavner), BART (Nancy Cartwright), LISA (Yeardley Smith) and MAGGIE – are television icons. Already the longest-running scripted series in television history, the Emmy Award-, Annie Award- and Peabody Award-winning animated comedy recently “Gunsmoke’s” primetime television record of 636 episodes.
