Season Review: Bravest Warriors Season 3

Was the show’s third season worth the price of a VRV sub?

Season three of Bravest Warriors was the shortest season they have had to date. As such, the plot didn’t advance very far. The six episodes seemed to take place over four days – the first two episodes were one day, the third episode was the second, the fourth and fifth episodes were the third, and the final episode was the fourth.

All of these episodes focused more on the emotional state of the characters than any external battles. Beth and Danny were starting to date while Chris was away but, once he came back, everyone had to deal with the fact that Chris loves Beth more than anything but Beth isn’t sure she still loves Chris. Since Chris is an Emotion Lord, his emotions throw everything out of whack. The rest of the group has to deal with his issues as they try to destroy everything.

Considering season two aired in 2014 and season three didn’t air until 2017, I was completely disappointed with this whole season. I understand why they need to go into Chris’ Emotion Lord powers but they should have waited until they could do it over time instead of shoving it into six short episodes. (I think the longest episode was just over 11 minutes.) Season four is rumored to be 52 episodes. That would give them plenty of time to get into all of the emotional issues while still weaving in enough action and adventure to keep the audience interested. If they are planning on keeping the show on an app that requires a monthly fee, they better make the next season absolutely amazing. I only hope that haven’t already lost their entire audience.
