Cleveland becomes the topic of Junior’s paper on “The Typical American” and at first his dad is thrilled as he believes its a huge honor. Little did he know however, Junior used his day of following around his dad quietly scoffing at all the negative traits a typical American brings. To battle his new found depression, Cleveland spends the night drinking on the town, only to come home and slam head first into his bathtub while reaching for a burrito. After being humiliated by everyone, including the people working at the hospital, his family, even American Standard, Cleveland works to regain his son’s lost affinity by fastening a lap bar to his toilet. Disgusted with her husband’s obsession, Donna takes the kids to the amusement park with plans of an overnight stay leaving Cleveland by himself. However, things turn ugly when Cleveland’s toilet contraption gets stuck causing him to find a creative(and apparently delicious) way of getting a hold of Lester Krinklesac to call in the Fire Dept to come help out. Turns out Stoolbend’s FD has a fire fighter who has some good experience in toilet abuse and is able to set Cleveland free via a helicopter lift.
Meanwhile, Rallo is tall enough to ride the scariest roller coaster in town the Eliminator! That is until he gets to the park and realizes that his big ass ‘fro doesn’t count as height making him too small to ride the coaster. As luck would have it, Cleveland’s on TV as a result of his helicopter lift which is heading to the Capitol Building, causing Donna to take part in a high speed chase so as to catch up, giving Rallo his sweet ride!
I would say approximately half of this episode was devoted to puns but they worked every time. For one, the hospital staff had a whole bunch for Cleveland getting hammered by his toilet, and then Donna came in with quite a few just to stir things up. Also, Cleveland Show is more and more borrowing elements that made Family Guy so popular like talking pieces that aren’t supposed to talk and I believe last week Cleveland even started doing some of the outros that Peter Griffin used to do. Speaking of Peter, where was he when Cleveland was stuck on the toilet? I’m sure he could’ve saved the day with his trusty tank!
