Review: Wild Grinders “The Big Sleep…Over” ; “Lil Rob’n Hood!”

Overview (Spoilers Below!!!)

The Big Sleep…Over –

The Grinders are all piling into Patty’s car. Patty informs Rob that she’s set him up on a play date. Rob is super embarrassed then realizes that all of his friends are in the car with him. Before Patty can say who the date is, Stubford hops in the car and asks Rob if he’s ready for their date.

The gang tries to look at the bright side of the situation: Rob might have a chance to finally meet the elusive “Stubford’s mom.” No one has seen her, allegedly not even Stubford himself. Rob says he’s gonna get a picture of Stubford’s mom then bounce.

Rob encounters Stubford out by the pool. He’s dressed in some Shakespearian opera clothes. Apparently this is how he’s supposed to dress for all of his play dates. Mr. Hucksterball, Stubford’s father, walks by wearing similar garments and presents Rob and Meaty with their own opera garb because they have to wear that as well.

After attempting to eat a lunch of frozen tater tots and mayonnaise, Rob makes his way to the bathroom. There, Rob and Meaty attempt to “Bloody Mary” Stubford’s mom out. After chanting her name five times a demon appears and says he’s never seen Stubford’s mom either. Rob is determined to meet this woman so he asks Stubford if he can sleep over.

The boys are tucked away in Stubford’s room, awaiting their official tucking in for bed. Just then, Stubford’s mom walks by the door and offers sweet dreams. She emerges from the shadows only to be Mr. Hucksterball with a hand puppet ala Jennifer Lopez from South Park. After they leave, Rob vows to dig deeper.

Rob starts snooping around the house where he encounters Stubford wearing a blond wig and eating a pickle/mustard combo caller “pickletard.” Rob asks where Stubford’s mom is and Stubford points to the window. Mr. Hucksterball walks into the room wearing the same wig. The night turns to day and the sleepover is officially over. Rob and Meaty hop in the car as Stubford and his dad head back inside for some more pickletard. We see a shadowy figure reach out and grab the jar as the screen goes black and we get a mega cut commercial for The Fairly Oddparents.

Lil Rob’n Hood

Rob is standing on a giant book and wants to tell us a story about one of his favorite heroes, Lil Rob’n Hood. Stubford plays the evil prince character. A giant butterfly captures his father while they’re on a hunt, so Stubford becomes king. He heads back to his kingdom and immediately becomes hungry. He imposes a tax on all burritos and his lackey begins collecting the burritos of all of the townspeople. Lil Rob, playing the obvious Robin Hood character, vows to never turn over his burritos. He then stomps on a tiny carriage and turns it into a wooden board. He gathers the Grinders and they vow to help the townspeople.

Rob breaks out his new invention, a burrito vacuum, and begins stealing the burritos back from Stubford’s cart. Stubford and his lackey return to the kingdom to see Rob and his merry Grinders have fed all of the townspeople the burritos that they rightfully deserve. Stubford challenges Rob to a duel and it’s going to be in archery. Winner stays and loser leaves town are the rules.

Goggles plays the Alchemist character and creates an iron tipped arrow…for Stubford! He’s going to place a magnet in the target so Stubford is assured victory. Rob adds a challenge and says that all of the shots have to be fired from a skateboard. Rob goes first and goes bullseye crazy. Then Stubford goes and though he fires wildly away from the target he comes up with all bulls-eyes as well. Goggles turns on Stubford and shows the crowd how it happened. Stubford is then dragged by a horse out of town as Rob is celebrated. The screen pans out to show Lil Rob as a grandfather and an extremely Lil Rob as his grandson listening to the story within the story.
