Review: Wander Over Yonder ”The Fremergency Fronfract; The Boy Wander”
Spoilers Below
The Fremergency Fronfract;
Hater is at the dentist, and after massive oral surgery, is tasked with getting a ride home. Listed on his emergency contact info is Wander whom spends the whole day with his drugged up arch-nemesis with hopes his generosity will rub off on the tyrannical ruler. Eventually, Wander decides to bring Hater home because he’s not interested in a brain-washed friend. Hater comes to, and he doesn’t believe what just happened.
Our Take
I much preferred the first half of this week’s episode versus the second half. Seeing Hater all drugged up was humorous, and we got to see a side of Wander we had never seen before…a mean one. Though who can top Hater singing along to the Wander theme song? Not much.

The Boy Wander”
Wander gets serious, and I mean super serious, about a baddie from his past. Like, you know how Wander usually wants to be friends with the bad guys? Not this time. This time Wander goes full commando and wants to do everything he can to stop this dude. His name is Screwball Jones, and to be perfectly honest, he doesn’t seem like he’s that bad of a guy. As a matter of fact, Sylvia is wondering half the time why Wander is even getting his pants in a knot. A fight ensues, and it’s more of a hassle than anything else.
Our Take
Look, I’m all for this resurgence in Weird Al’s career, but I was bored to tears with this episode. The fight at the end was just annoying as shit. It looked fabulous, but I had to watch it on mute because it just sounded so generic, and the fact that we kept looping it in over and over again, certainly wasn’t helping anyone. While it was entertaining to see yet another side of Wander we have never really seen before, overall I walked away rather disappointed.
