Spoilers Below

There’s a bat-wielding ghost terrorizing the local ball field and this one has a name…Chip Braverton. It gets so bad, that the owner is threatening to dissolve the team which would just be devastating to a hardcore fan like Shaggy. The crew ends up meeting Dustin, a former player that never really made it but thinks he did, and of course the ghost himself who ends up chasing Scooby any the gang all over the stadium.  We eventually find out that the ghost and Dustin are one and the same, and after Dustin gets hauled away, Shaggy throws out the first pitch.

Our Take

I love baseball, and I love the fact that we got a baseball episode of Scooby Doo the same night as my NY Mets won an important playoff game. Truth be told, I thought that Chip was one of the most terrifying villains we’ve seen so far this young season. I mean, the guy swung a bat at peoples’ heads for Christ sake! And while the ending was obvious due to the fact that Chris Parnell guest starred as Dustin, and you don’t go out and get a Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty/Archer) without giving him a major part, but the baseball-related jokes were really good, especially when Fred and Velma were up in the box calling the action on the field. Oh yea, and how about Shaggy being a brave soul? I loved the idea that he grew a set and stepped up to the plate when the guys needed him…sorry couldn’t help my self there.
