Review: Regular Show ”The Lunch Club”

Spoilers Below

Rigby and Benson ruin a luncheon for Mr. Maellard, so the boss gives the duo the option to pick someone to resign by the end of the work day. At first. neither Rigs or Benson wants to give up their job, but as the two begin to bond over chicken wings and pretending, they decide to write a letter of resignation..together. Fortunately for them, Maellard can’t read shit, and Pops covers leaving his father to keep Rigby and Benson on board.

Our Take

Ironically enough, Rigby and Benson had a rift in the comics, so I thought that would somehow carry over here but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Instead we get a rather heart-warming buddy comedy that doesn’t feature a lot of Mordecai which is a feature of this episode that is rather quite brave. Before I wrap, two funny moments stick out in this week’s episode that had me going: 1) Rigby’s face when he’s asked to watch the door for Benson as he reheats wings and 2) the cliched walk off on the football field at the end.
