Review: Regular Show “The Ice Tape”

Ice, ice, baby.

The park employees head to a video store where they get a special tape made out for Pops that’s completely made out of ice. The store employees take the gang to the only place where you can watch a tape made out of a block of ice…up a mountain. On the arduous journey, a guy named Joel gets eaten by a fish, but that doesn’t stop everyone from their mission.

Everyone stops off a cave for rest, but Vee is eaten by a monster so now we’ve gotta make a break for it down a water slide. It’s here we run into a familiar face that has three VCRs with the game being only one of them can be chosen to play the ice tape. If it’s wrong, the guys will never learn what’s on the tape. Pops opts for the VCR on fire, but not before the monster returns and Kai has to risk her life to destroy the beast. We play the tape and find out more between the feud between Pops and his brother. Turns out, Pops and his bro are from another planet and were more or less destined for a showdown.

Our Take

I was a little worried we were gonna get something of a rehash episode but ,instead, we actually got a pretty important one. That said, “The Ice Tape” didn’t come short of laughs, as the constant unnecessary sacrifices had me laughing quite a bit. We know a bit more about what this feud is, and some of the elements of Pops’ back story rewrite a lot of Regular Show history, so things are looking to get nuts sooner rather than later.
