Review: Regular Show “Sad Sax”

Mordy is down in the dumps due to the fact that CJ still hates him about kissing Margaret at last year’s Christmas party. Well when love trouble is here, Sad Sax Guy is here, and is ready to help Mordecai get through his bad times. Unfortunately, none of the advice he gives actually works until the end when he recommends Mordecai talk to his mom. After getting advice he can actually use, Mordecai heads to CJ’s apartment where he literally puts his ex’s name in lights to get her attention. Unfortunately, the local union isn’t impressed with the display because after he wins back CJ’s affection they take turns beating the shit out of Mordecai. Back at the hospital, CJ and Mordecai make amends.
To be honest, I ‘m a bit perplexed as to what to think about this week’s episode. Sad Sax Guy is hysterical, and that doesn’t change here. Not only is all of his advice stupid, but he just looks silly as hell in almost every scene he is. I’m pretty sure you can mute the whole episode, and just laugh at his Glam Metal take on a saxophonist.
Mordecai and CJ are back together after what was a rather brief split. Whether or not Margaret plays a role in upcoming episodes is unclear at this point. On one hand, it looks like there was a split. On the other, we never really got answered whether or not Margaret has feelings for Mordecai. And to be totally honest, I wasn’t entirely crazy about Mordecai’s explanation neither, so I’m not even sure if I would call him concrete at the moment.
In any case, I’m hooked…and I want more.
