REVIEW: REGULAR SHOW “FUZZY DICE”
Everyone comes up with a gift on Pop’s birthday.
Spoilers Below
Its Pops’ birthday and all he really wants is a set of fuzzy dice and the only way to get it is to win it at the “Fun Fun Zone”. Everyone at the park decides to go including Mordecai, Rigby, Skips, Benson, Muscle Man, and High-Five Ghost but they have to disguise Rigby as a child because the “Fun Fun” rules state you must have at least one kid. The guys mosey on over to the prize booth where they attempt to purchase the fuzzy dice but the booth only takes currency in the form of tickets and the group needs to get 1 million tickets in order to get the prize.
After getting through a musical montage, the group is still 20,000 tickets short of the fuzzy dice so they turn their sights to the Skeeze Balls game as that pushes at more tickets than all the other games. Problem is between all of them the guys only have one token so they have to use one machine to try and win the tickets as a result they need to work together to get this deal done. Eventually, the guys do win the game and get all the tickets that they need to win the dice and back at the booth they do just that!
Weirdly enough, the Capicola band comes to life and take the dice and then -peel out in their convertible leaving the Park’s group to regroup and ‘Roll Out”! What ensues is a high speed chase that leads to a pier with the band’s car crashing with the park clan not too far behind. Once the golf cart catches up, we learn that the band has been waiting 10 years for a statute of limitations to go up on a bunch of diamonds that were stolen and put inside the fuzzy dice. But, because Mordecai and the gang had to win the prize, the band had to try and make a break for it. Soon, the FBI shows up and an all-out shoot-em up goes down with the feds on the winning end.
Ohhh man, I was getting ready to DESTROY this episode because it really was bad. What with the lame-dreary looking arcade, THREE musical montages, and a “We have to work really hard to get this done” story line that Regular Show is starting to play out…there was a lot to pick from. BUT, then the episode ended with Simple Minds on the last montage that just put me into a GREAT mood. Weirdly enough, I looked for the video below to post for the kids and I guess people were already commenting on it from the episode. Love it!
